Limit salt intake to less than 5 grams per day
Control protein intake as per your stage of CKD
Limit potassium-rich foods (bananas, oranges, potatoes, tomatoes)
Limit phosphorus-rich foods (dairy, nuts, cola drinks)
Drink adequate water (as advised by your doctor)
Avoid processed and packaged foods
Eat fresh home-cooked meals
Follow a diabetic diet if you have diabetes

Take all medications as prescribed by Dr. Goel
Never miss doses of ACE inhibitors/ARBs
Do not take over-the-counter painkillers (NSAIDs) without consulting
Keep a list of all your medications
Inform all doctors about your kidney disease
Take phosphate binders with meals if prescribed
Do not stop any medication without doctor's advice
Keep track of your blood pressure medications

Exercise for at least 30 minutes daily (walking, yoga)
Maintain a healthy weight (BMI 18.5-24.9)
Quit smoking completely
Limit alcohol consumption
Get adequate sleep (7-8 hours)

Avoid heavy lifting and strenuous activities
Stay active but listen to your body

Check blood pressure at home regularly
Monitor blood sugar if diabetic
Get kidney function tests done every 3 months
Keep a log of your weight, BP, and blood sugar

Watch for swelling, fatigue, or changes in urination
